Michelle Chan, Director, Manufacturing Practice

Michelle Chan is Director, Manufacturing Management Practice, of MRI China Group focusing in the Electrical/ Electronics/ Semiconductor/ Hardware manufacturing enterprises. In that capacity, Michelle has impressed her clients with her outstanding accuracy and efficiency of service delivery.

Michelle has been a top performer in MRI. In 2003, Michelle was the winner of “Asia/Pacific Solo Account Executive of the Year” and “Most Helpful Person of the Year” in the Hong Kong Office. In 2004, she still maintained her position as the pacesetter and was runner-up in “Asia/Pacific Solo Account Executive of the Year”. In 2005, Michelle was the 2nd runner-up of “Asia/Pacific Solo Account Executive of the Year” and in 2006, Michelle was “the 2nd highest performing Solo Account Executive” in Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining MRI, Michelle worked for six years as  Project Manager, Senior Technical Marketing Specialist and Engineering Director with a leading international manufacturer of Consumer Electrical Goods in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia and the US. Michelle is highly experienced in all aspects of R&D, NPI Management, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Procurement, ERP, Quality Control and “to market” issues. She has unique insight into business practices and demonstrates great communication with Asian, European and American business partners.

Michelle began her professional career as a R&D Engineer to design the telephony for a US listed Telco equipment manufacturer. At the age of 26, she won the coveted Hong Kong Governor's Industry Award for her design of an Intercom feature Phone.

Michelle earned her Bachelor degree of Engineering at the age of 20 and her Masters of Science later. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese and speaks conversational Japanese and Burmese.
